' The Hunting Pink one is definitely my favourite (although I've not seen the episode, I have seen the clip!) and although its not a proper full-on corpsing moment, I do love the bit in Scoutrageous when he slips as he's going to look at the badges. |
Oh I love that one too. I think I love it all the more because of the way Tim just takes it in his stride without even a hint of a corpse. |
And even Graeme, the Goody least likely to corpse, is struggling to keep a straight face.
Another good Bill corpsing moment is in "Come Dancing", after he's had a drink poured down the front of his trousers. |

I have seen Paul Merton several times, including twice at Edinburgh, both times on the front row, and he does seem like a lovely bloke. I think he's mellowed quite a lot, but he did used to be a bit of a grumpy so-and-so and that still scares me a bit. And, even though Cleese seems to have mellowed quite a bit too, he still terrifies me. I think watching Fawlty Towers as a youngster can't have helped much!
Anyway, back to Bill. What's everyone's favourite Bill corpsing moment? Let's face it, there's plenty of them! I'm undecided between two; the one in Scatty Safari after Tim says, "Australia, here we come!",
And in 'Hunting Pink' where Graeme slips on the rug and Bill has to eat his hat to stop corpsing, but it ends up making it look even more obvious!
Long live Bill, the corpsing king! Jess. --------------

I just saw Bill's 'Little Black Bird Book' (sic) at the ABC shop. I had a flick through, but didn't buy it, not being a big birder (heh...Big Bird-er ). There was a really fuzzy picture of him as a teenager, but it's almost too blurry to be of any use. |

Cleesey's at least a foot taller than everyone! Right now I'm upset with him for retiring. It was only a forty year long career! It's over too soon!
Y'know, I think Bill's got the right sort of idea, gallivanting about the countryside like he does. But we do like to see him around every now and then... '

' I was thinking (as I was reading all the tributes to Steve Irwin on the BBC News website) that Bill should pick up his game a bit. Quite a few of the comments were wishing that there was someone like Steve in the UK. I think Bill needs to get a bit more dangerous. |
I haven't seen any of Bill's wildlife stuff so shoot me down in flames, but after Steve-O maybe we need something a little more mellow (and not about to get his arm chopped off). And at least Bill actually shows up, whereas Attenborough just seems to be doing the narration bits nowadays. I don't think he was ever anywhere near as mad as the characters he played. Watching the BBC Film Night featurette on the Holy Grail dvd, you can really see that he was pretty quiet and thoughtful even back then. I get the feeling that he's a bit more critical now than he used to be, although that's just a general impression I get - it isn't based on anything specific.

I was surprised by John Cleese in the Return of... doco. He looks/sounds like he's mellowed. Or just got old. |

I would love to meet Paul Merton - he comes across as a really nice guy, but I'm with Jess on the Cleese issue. I'd be terrified too, and not just because he's nearly a foot and a half taller than me.

Paul Merton really doesn't seem to be scary in real life. Having spent an evening in the same pub as him, I'd say he seems like a lovely guy.
As to bill.... I would sell my soul to get him to join the other two on tour. I would absolutely love to see/meet him. --- Have I ever failed you? |
