 Subject:  Goodies Novellas
28/09/2026 10:32 0ST

Looks like the third novella comes out in October
They have just re-issued the first two releases which have been out of print.

Avengers Dissemble
Pods and Monsters

3rd installment is called
The National Mistrust

These are now being published 'print-on-demand' via Amazon, now can even get hardcover copies too.

I am not on bookface, but did stumble across a post on the WibblyWideWebs where they mentioned these novellas were now going to come out monthly.

However https://chinbeardbooks.com/ is still not operational - I queried about it a few years back.

Subject:  When Were We Funniest? and Top 50 Greatest Celebrity Animals
15/09/2026 15:48 0ST

Does anyone have either of these please?

When Were We Funniest? was a 2008 series for UKTV Gold which tried to judge which decade from the 1960s to the 2000s was the funniest, including The Goodies in the 1970s episodes. There were 12 episodes in total, 2 per decade, an introductory episode and a grand final episode. There's little to no sign of it online, UKTV don't have it (it was made by BBC Manchester so I can't get access to the BBC Archive to see it) and none of the staff involved (director John Piper, series producer Victoria Bobin, executive producer Caroline Wright, archive producer Caroline Julyan, editor Steve Seddon) have it either, and there's no IMDb entry which doesn't help.

Top 50 Greatest Celebrity Animals was a single 2005 documentary for Sky One which was hosted by Bill Oddie. Again, no footage exists online.

Since Bill's passing I have been watching the full run again and I wonder in the modern 'Woke' era which episodes could be shown without offending someone.

Subject:  The Goodies Transmission in Australia
12/06/2026 06:29 0ST

When the ABC last broadcast the Goodies, it was shown on the then ABC 2 in the 2000s but episodes were limited . they couldn't show series 1,2 and 5 I believe. Interesting to note, the episode "Hype Pressure" was shown during that run which I don't believe was ever shown in Australia. I believe the BBC had blocked the rights to show many episodes. Does anyone know the reason why ? I don't think it had anything to do with the Goodies themselves

Hello everyone! I've just found out about this website and I was wondering what's the source of the pictures used on the GIF that says "have you seen these men?" that would sometimes appear on the top right corner of the site?
