I remember watching The Goodies when I was about 3 years old, and I still bloody love it. It's the zaniest, craziest and most daring comedy I think I've ever seen. It could never ever become too "old" in my eyes - I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at any sitcom since. Dodo birds and rabbits on the moon just don't seem to cut it in the boring, obnoxious excuses for comedy that appear on television these days... and I'm not even old...

I'm only 17 and I love the goodies!! It'll never be "too old". That is so ridiculous, considering they play the three stooges on the comedy channel.

Pfft. That is so crap. The Goodies are cool. I'm 16 and i've watched them ever since i was little. I didn't understand half the jokes then but i still loved it. It's good for all ages - has amusing things for the kiddies and then jokes that only older people would understand. Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Hazel_nutt,

I was rather fond of some of the other one liners in Down Periscope as well,  for example:

"The only thing holding her together sir, are the bird droppings"

"I feel I need a tetanus shot just from looking at it Sir"

and my personal favourite...

"Leuitenant Lake, You're almost out of uniform."

Yes, damn good movie, Down Periscope! As for the Goodies being too old for the Comedy Channel, what a load of bollix! It's nothing of the sort!!! *mutter, mumble, clack false teeth together"

And my favourite quote from Down Periscope -

"You are addressing a superior officer!"

"No, merely a higher-ranking one!"

Thanks Zaphod! Knew I'd heard that before but I couldn't think of the movie.

If anyone can be bothered starting a petition to the Comedy Channel I'd sign it. Or even the ABC.

I would have used the term "classic"! Hopefully UKTV will show them again, don't lose hope.

"excellence knows no age, sir" is a quote that comes to mind.

                      Cheers,    Jeffers.
