Well Gerry, I'm envious beyond belief, but having only been conceived in 1986 I've had little chance of seeing the Goods in action. Still, the main issue is that I am good friends with Andy (The Trandem) and often assume a secretarial mantle, and provide him with the occassional bottom directed kick. It may be wise for you to cantact me with any other episodes you may like. We are now in possession of series 1-6...I think...Maybe 7. Anyway, do mail me at:
goodygoody_yumyum@hotmail.com
Thanks.
David.
(By the way, he is very slow so it may be a few months before he can get copies posted to you, as both of us must balance our CD copying and Video making tasks with the matter of schoolwork, a most horrid thing. Do mail me if you are still interested.) |

thanks Jeffers for the reply. A very helpful person has sent me a screenshot and only tonight my twin sister and I have had another close look. we are almost 100% certain that we are on the second row behind the mock contestant who is wearing glasses. We think we were the only children that night ( i'm sure the BBC don't let children that young go anymore to recordings, particularly unaccompanied). I'm the shorter person with my sister who was taller than me at the time on my left. In other words I am the young person behind the man with the white shirt and black tie who is sitting between the man with glasses and the woman in the pink dress (mock mastermind contestants)-if that makes any sense.
Anyway enough about me; it's great to know there are people 'out there' who still enjoy and appreciate the Goodies. thanks again.

You're a lucky person, Gerry! I'd have killed to see a taping of a goodies episode! Mind you I would've only been about 2 and in a different country altogether. I'm going to check it out now and see if I can spot you. Let us know if you can spot yourself in it when you get a copy to watch!
Anyone else attend a taping? WE NEED MORE OF THESE STORIES!!!! |

Hello all, new to this forum and stumbled across it trying to find an episode of the Goodies from 1975. My father obtained tickets for The Goodies recording session of 'Frankenfido' which is no 5 episode in series five. It was recorded sometime early 1975 and broadcast on 10.3.75. My twin sister and i went very excitedly to the BBC to watch it (12 years old at the time) being fans of the Goodies as most children that time seemed to be.
I remember very clearly Bill Oddie helping the audience sing 'Throwing Up' and everyone was given a brown paper bag in which to pretend to vomit. I think it was part of the pre-recording audience warm-up.
The episode included a spoof Mastermind with special guest star Magnus Magnusson . They needed a section of the audience to 'pretend' to be the mastermind audience and we were thrilled to find out that our section was chosen for this. this meant possibly being part of the show. i still have memories of watching it on Tv when it was broadcast and seeing myself and my sister on the episode even if it is only for a second or two-I think i was wearing a blue polo neck jumper.
i say memories because I have never seen the episode again although often think of it and wondered if i dreamt it all up. I finally decided the only way to check was to get hold of a copy of the episode but of course the BBC don't have any commercially available copies.
So today at work i sat searching on the internet, came across your excellent webiste and was delighted to see that there are fans out there who have episodes on video. i have emailed Andy (the_trandem) to see if he is able to help.
Anyway sorry for going on so long but thought it might be of some historical interest for Goodies fans. I feel tremendously privileged to have seen them perform live so to speak. Has anyone else had the privilege of seeing an episode being recorded?
