'Bill's been asked about the tapes at several fan Q&As but has given different answers. From memory, on one occasion he said he thought he might have them but wasn't sure who owned the copyright (him, the BBC, or some combination thereof). Another time he said something about the tapes maybe being at the BBC.
My impression was that he didn't have any interest in releasing the songs, at least not at that point in time (perhaps since he was focused on his wildlife work). |
It is so strange that BBC didn't release them already in the 70's. When The Goodies were on the charts, an album of episode songs would have sold really well IMHO.
Today maybe an intiative from Bill is needed. OTOH they could be released as bonus material on a third BBC DVD release, so it would help the sales of that for a minimal cost. Let's keep wishing! |

Another good song that I'd like to hear in HQ, free from laughter and sound effects, is "Crazy man" from Cunning Stunts. Good track! Doesn't exist? |

I'm still looking for the Blowing Off single. Nostalgia has kicked in with a vengeance and I remember clearly hearing this on the radio in the 70's, and now I want to get hold of it (if only to prove to my daughter I haven't made it up!). I can't find the song or the album anywhere -can anyone help me out or point me at a download site that lists it? |

What I'd like to hear are all the songs that are in the shows, like "Run", but in high quality. Are the masters lost? A new CD with such songs would be great, I'd buy one. Isn't that a good way to re-release "Funky gibbon" and the other official hits, to bundle them with unrleased material? |
