If Morecambe & Wise could be referred to as "The Boys" right up until Eric Morecambe's death at 58 surely "The Goodies" can be too! |

Many Goodies Episodes were filmed in Portland Dorset (it's where I live!) I remember visiting the many film sets as a lad and meeting the boys. The most famous episode filmed here was The Goodies and The Beanstalk, well, all the OB was. and where the Beanstalk lands in France...it is in fact Portland Harbour.
The episode with the pet shop was filmed in a hair dressing salon, and The episode where tim plays footie with a Tank was filmed on my old school football ground. I sometimes visit the old quarries and say to myself..."Tim, Bill and fuzzy chops stood here! |

I agree there's little down there - my wife comes from Camborne so I know it quite well, and she was *very* keen to move away after 25 years.
The best dates to check would be the period of shooting and period of transmission of the episodes. The staff at Redruth are *brilliantly* helpful though and I'm sure they'd point out the relevant local papers.
Happy hunting!

Not really sure. If you could specify papers, dates and pages I'm sure they'd mail a photostat for a fee. I always go in personally when I'm down there to browse through the papers and books. |

Just looked at their website, would they send things to me at all or do you have to pay them a visit? I hope it's the latter as I live in London now and really do not like going to Cornwall and limit it to bi yearly.
Sorry to be a pest. |

Don't have a definite film schedule or paperwork for the Cornwall shoot which took place between 1 and 11 October 1974. Some of "OK Tearooms" is shot at St Just I believe, so certainly they were shooting in this area over the fortnight they were there.
Maybe worth checking out the local newspaper library at Redruth; I've had a couple of visits and found some odds and ends including photographs from "OK Tearooms" and "Rome Antics".
Hope that helps! |

I'd like some help placing Locations as well, All the stuff in Cornwall, as I'm from pasty land and think I can place some of it but am not sure, Like the bit in Cunning Stunts where Bill is trying to jump in the sea, looks like it could be either St Ives or Penzance.
But I could do with some help. Also my Mum said she has seen Bill Oddie in Penzance a few times recently. |
