I suspect it was just that the programme did well from overseas sales, and enough countries had moved in colour broadcasting for the master tapes to be retained (previously it tended to be b/w film).AFAIK the only Goodies material to be returned from overseas are the Commonwealth Games, and Wicked Waltzing. These are on b/w film and have been edited, though it's possible that the edited bits still exist at the relevant censor board HQ if anyone wants to check (can't recall at the mo whether it was Australia or NZ). It might sound a long shot but some missing Dr Who stuff turned up that way quite recently...I'll get me anorak
I love the idea of "The Goddies"...sounds like a Current 93 album (who?)

"The Goddies"? that's a bit of a "Freudian slip" isn't it? Of course we do all worship the ground they walk on, don't we?
PS Seriously, I've got no idea why the Goodies tapes weren't wiped, pure luck I should think!

Many popular shows of the early sevanties.

beebs junking policy . So my question is this why
have the Goddies managed to survive in an almost
Complete stae?.
Is it because of great foreign sales?
Were the 2" tapes returned from abroad?
Did an archivist just like the Goddies?
Eh this is my first post so if this topic has already
