Hmmmmm. This is odd. I posted a full listing for the revised Volumes 1-4 box and the new Volume 5 set yesterday and it hasn't appeared?
Technical guys - any ideas?
All the best

You can also check out the listing on www.amazon.co.uk. Search for "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" to find the listings for the volume 1-4 box set and volume 5, which is a separate CD. Amazon's still showing a Feb 5th release date for both of them.
I've got a listing of which episodes are in vols 1-4 in my Goodies Illustrated Guide. The main page is www.goodiesillustratedguide.com; you should see a link in the menu for the Radio Show (ISIHAC & ISIRTA) CDs.
I haven't heard anything about the selections for Vol. 5 but I imagine that info might come out as we get closer to the release date. |

Just to clarify the situation of the forthcoming "ISIRTA" CD releases from BBC Audiobooks. This is a kick-start of an aborted range of cassette releases from the late 1980s/early 1990s which were dropped through lukewarm sales after four double-tape releases. The plan is that if the forthcoming CDs sell at the required volumes, then "ISIRTA" will join shows like "Dad's Army", "Hancock's Half-Hour", "The Navy Lark", "Round the Horne" and the like in having fully restored season box sets.
The first of the two releases comprises 8 discs with 15 shows and is the contents of the old "ISIRTA" Volumes 1 to 4, but now resequenced chronologically. Thus the shows are:
Volume 1
1/1 3-4-64 (17-3-64) inc Top of the Form ; Inward Bound ; Cricket ; Wine tasting ; Summat oop in t'loom room ; Horrible hairy spiders ; Bank manager ; Transport Song.
3/9 9-5-66 (24-4-66) inc Knitting sketch ; Traffic Warden sketch ; There Was A Ship ; Mad Doctor sketch ; The Lawman ; Marriage Guidance ; Julius Caesar.
6/7 26-5-68 (12-5-68) inc Football results ; Squealbase ; Continental coach trip ; Julie Andrews Song ; Operation Chocolate.
6/9 9-6-68 (26-5-68) inc Two-tier MaiI service ; The Kevin Mousetrap Show ; What A Wonderful World ; Take your clothes off ; Down On Melody Farm ; Traffic warning ; Macbeth.
Volume 2
8/2 22-2-70 (1-2-70) inc Radio Prune goes commercial ; The Fairy Puff Man ; Home This Afternoon A-Go-Go ; Commercial break ; The News ; Sunday Evening Song ; Prune Play - The Canterbury Tales.
8/3 1-3-70 (8-2-70) inc Top of the Charts ; Radio Prune - Countrywide - Commercial break - Listeners' Letters ; Endless Soap-opera ; El Tarantula Wine ; Regina v. Radio Prune ; As I Sit Here In The Silence ; Prune Play - The Telephone.
8/6 22-3-70 (1-3-70) inc People we shall be offending this week ; The Amazing Babies ; This Is Your Life ; Stuffing Your Gibbon ; Prune Play - Murder on the 3.17 to Cleethorpes.
8/8 5-4-70 (15-3-70) inc Show Business ; Parliamentary Committee on the Common Market ; Radio Prune Goes International ; Tom Jones Suitably Censored ; Guerres Sans Frontières ; Thud-Bang-Banq-Wobble-Wobble-Bong ; Prune Play - Jorrocks, the Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man.
Volume 3
8/10 19-4-70 (5-4-70) inc The Yellow-and-White Minstrel Show ; The Radio Prune Awards ; Bradford Girls ; Prune Play - The Harder They Fall, The More They Hurt Themselves.
8/12 3-5-70 (19-4-70) inc Bank Holidays ; White Feather Club ; Brian Rix Farce ; Football Chants ; Prune Play - Greek Tragedy.
9/1 4-11-73 (9-9-73) 'Whoops! Not In Front Of The Buses...' ; David Hatch v. the BBC Controller ; Latest in Topical Satire, including The Kaiser Song ; The Terrapin Song ; Prune Playtime - Lawrence Of Arabia On Ice and Scott of the Sahara.
9/2 11-11-73 (23-9-73) inc Boring Quiz ; Terrapin joke ; 'So You Think You've Got A Feed-Line' ; A Kick In The Arts ; The Twerp Special ; Cactus In My Y-Fronts ; Prune Playhouse - Jack The Ripper.
Volume 4
9/5 2-12-73 (11-11-73) inc Miss United Prune ; Radio Prune Festival of Light ; Prune Symphony Orchestra - up-to-date Toy Symphony ; Prune Productions - Song of the South, including Rust.
9/8 23-12-73 (25-11-73) inc Ministerial Broadcast ; Nursery Memories ; Cooking/Gardening/Sport ; Bring Back Brian Clough ; Ice Cubes Down My Cleavage, or, The Coldtitz Story.
25th Anniversary Show 25-12-89 inc How it all started; BBC governors; Spring,Spring,Spring; Recycled radio; John & Mary; Prune Playhouse - Jack the Ripper; End of radio; Silly walk; Cleese buys BBC radio; Ferret Song .
In addition to this is a new 2 disc release, Volume 5, which will then comprise four previously unreleased shows:
6/1 14-4-68 (24-3-68) inc BBC Light Programme ; The David Hatch Show ; Why was ISIRTA taken off the air? ; ISIRTA Song ; Solicitor sketch ; Play of the Century - Bunny and Claude.
6/2 21-4-68 (31-3-68) inc Mr. and Mrs. Bunny-rabbit ; Going for a Burton ; Sports results ; Taking My Oyster For Walkies ; Fishpaste (blackmail) ; Weather Centre ; Dentist ('Daktari').
6/4 5-5-68 (21-4-68) inc Desert Island Jokes ; ISIRTA Report on Schools ; The Trio Los Banditos ; Incompetence (Trouble at t'Mill).
9/3 18-11-73 (23-9-73) Stereo - famous programmes on one channel only ; Prune's alternative to Radio 1 ; Sick Man's Blues ; St*r Trek.
Hope that makes sense.
All the best

OK, I'm doing something dumb here and this post(s) isn't coming up properly, but please bear with me because my heart's in the right place...
If you go to Spotted, and go to page 2, it's the thread called 'ISIRTA season 5'. The set's not out til Feb, apparently. |

jodievdw:
Methinks there's an ISIRTA box set out soon (or maybe even out already), which would be a more honourable way to acquire it than via the various downloads available. |
Where could I get the said box set? At the moment I've resorted to recording them off the Internet...which takes time and I doubt they're all there anyway. |

Yep, Prunie, ISIRTA.

ISIRTA is well worth a listen, if you haven't met it before. Not only is it very funny - especially if you like daft puns - there are there an *amazing* number of jokes and whole sketches which later turn up in Python and the Goodies, and it's an absolute Bill tune-fest. |

I think you need the most up to date Flash Player for it to work, Prune. Otherwise I don't know what else could be wrong, but if you have the episodes then it's from series 2, episode 10.
Hope that helps. Jess. --------------

I'm sorry Prune. I hope someone can help you. I'm not good at helping people with link problems and that sort of thing. The link worked for me.
Thanks Jess for pulling out the relevant information and putting up a link to the clip. |
