I got my set Friday in full and was never in the 500 autograph. Who were emailed to tell them they were in the 500. Network have shipped orders to arrive in time for Monday release day of the general sale of the box set and some have landed early.

I’ve been laughing my arse off to Almighty Cod
Having watched Jaws only recently, it’s a good one for me. Have sung along to “Collection” and watched the orient express, nice to see them mock the awards they were twice competing in. The books are great for explaining the topicality of themes some of which were a little before my time.

I thought release date was 24th Sept?
Some have mentioned they have already received their boxsets?

Have they done a deal with a new Pirate Post Office?

D-Day was 6 June 1944
M-Day was 20th July 1969
G-Day is supposed to be 24th Sept 2018... ?

If you have received the surprise, was it one of the Binge of Goodies limited edition ones?

Now missing from original order page is mention of "The first 500 copies come with a unique certificate, signed in person by Tim, Bill and Graeme."

Is this still happening and did anyone get in the 1st 500?

Full text of original page is at http://www.goodiesruleok.com/news.php?cod=2126

I’ve listen to “Kitten Kong” , “Dumb animal” and a lost advert from Kitten Kong on the soundtrack CDs.

What's the lost Kitten Kong commercial?

And on a related note; does the Kitten Kong soundtrack exist?

Watching Rome Antics.  Only ever saw the episode before from an off TV repeat bootleg DVD-R.

Now I understand why Roy disappears bizarrely in the version I have seen. The entire “Fruit fetish” and cream jelly licking etc stuff was entirely cut! Losing plot in the edit.  Seems it’s ok to poke a sheep 🐑 with a trident and talk about eating Christians! Though ha ha. And the orgy speech is cut holding a phalic cucumber as well.  Nice to see it now as the adult original version.

Invasion of the moon creatures, brilliant loved it. As good as Kitten Kong. With the transistorised Carrott spoof, I’m going to see if Madness who love clockwork orange will screen it at their weekender in November that I work at. They will love this episode and their fans.

Hello Faz.

My strategy is, so far, bought and read the first two books, and listened to the best of CD. Then watched a lot of the episodes and extras this week from the ITV and At Last BBC DVD’s and a couple of bootleg discs I had.

Now the glorious bag of binge has arrived. Hoorah. Thank you pirate post office!

I’ve read the broadcast history in the new  books, and read the 82-2004 chapter. As I was interested in how it all faded and what little goodie activity there was until the internet era tours etc.

I’ve listen to “Kitten Kong” , “Dumb animal” and a lost advert from Kitten Kong on the soundtrack CDs.

Now I’m going to dive into episodes based on how thrilled I am to finally see them on the DVD based on their synopsis from Goodies rule ok book.

First up “Invasion of the moon creatures” as I’m a big red dwarf fan etc. And love Sci fi comedy.

“snooze” is going to be second as the title sequence mr magoo style sleep walk has always intrigued me.

Loads to get through...

Once I’ve binged it all, I’m going to rewatch in broadcast order to see the shows evolution on screen etc and catch running/call back gags in context.

The moment we've dreamed of is now so close....every episode available to hand to watch over and over again.

Your answer to this following question may depend on a few things - with a presumption you've acquired the previously available releases, depending on your location you may have been lucky enough to have seen other episodes on TV or may have acquired copies of dubious quality, the question is this - what is your strategy for watching the episodes?

For example:-

Cherry pick certain episodes based on memories / reputation / mood
Watch in series order, perhaps skipping the previously released ones
Watch once and then again with episode guide books to hand
Ration yourself to say 4 episodes a day
Make a regular slot in the week, say a double bill on Mondays and Wednesdays
Have a binge weekend, by my Maths it's possible to watch the lot and come out just about alive (if you skip the Bagpipes Scene in the Scotland episode)
Have a Goodies night and invite your friends round
Have a Goodies night and invite Nicholas Parsons round
Watch in reverse order and marvel as they grow younger

Your Box, your choice

My initial plan was to save til Christmas (had always hoped for a Christmas release and it's a good chance to binge watch) but easier said than done, I think a brief run of cherry picking (of particular episodes I really enjoyed on wobbly flat sounding bootlegs but feel i haven't really "seen" properly) then try to ration to 2-3 episodes a sitting, in order, then all again with production notes / locations / extras blood groups etc to hand in a more analytical way.

Enjoy! And Thank you Network!

It's not a dromedary, but there is a six-legged dog created by loony scientist Graeme in the episode "Frankenfido" (which can be seen in the opening credits). There are some photos of it at the bottom of Brett's episode summary at http://goodiesruleok.com/articles.php?id=62&page=5

Thanks. Great site.

I’ve started my Binge. Bought the books recently to get in the mood for the box set.

Just finished the Goodies File. Very funny.

Have a question, is there a six legged pantomime dromedary in the TV show?  I think I spotted something looking mad like that in the opening credits of one episode?

Which episode or epsisodes is that from please?

Spotted a couple of ISIRTA reference injokes in the book. Nice touch.

Welcome!  You've come to the right place to discuss the new DVD set.

A few of us (like myself) are going to have to wait to receive our Binge sets via international posts, so I imagine the Goodies marathons will be happening throughout the next month.  It's so exciting that the complete series is finally being released!
