A sort of Bill-spotting...

Here are two reviews of an upcoming show:

The Kevin Bishop Show (Friday 15th August, Channel 4, 10pm)

IT may be a hit and miss series, but the sketches that work are so good it's worth sitting through the depressingly unfunny ones.  This week's targets include the Sugababes, Bill Oddie and David Attenborough.

...................

One of the team behind the generally spot-on comedy "reconstructions" of celebrity lives, Star Stories, here Kevin Bishop displays his talent for rather more orthodox comedy. The mode has changed - this is a rapid-fire sketch show - but the focus on topical, celebrity-based material remains broadly the same. This week, duly, there's a Sugababes tribute, an obsessive compulsive version of the OC (The OCDOC, obviously) along with Bishop's takes on impressionists' favourites Bill Oddie and David Attenborough. Not revolutionary by any means, but an undemanding comedy tabloid nonetheless.

There is now a transmission date for Tim's new episode of Heartbeat - Sunday 17th August at 7pm.
I'm guessing Tim is involved in the sub-plot of the alternative transport as his previous appearances have generally involved Peggy.

Heartbeat
Sunday 17th August, 7pm, ITV 1
Big Chill

Rachel's informant leads police to a drugs shipment at a deserted cove. The perpetrator's girlfriend, having struck up a friendship with Gina at antenatal classes, agrees to use her to help him escape - but a hostage situation ensues leaving the barmaid in great danger. Peggy comes up with alternative transport when Bernie worries his hearse won't be ready for a funeral.
Tim Brooke-Taylor makes a guest appearance
